Spread the Fox by Folding with Flare!
Spreading Firefox while folding proteins to help research on diseases and better understanding of how proteins fold.

We're rising!

For the first time in a few weeks, the daily production is going up again!

I'm also happy that eoc folding@home is now providing XML stats, which makes it possible to get stats like daily production easier with the upcoming stats system.

People with NSIS experience?

This is for any people that have got NSIS experience or want to learn it, and want to support creating a custom Firefox Folding@Home Team installer. The installer would need to install Folding@Home as a service on all Windows versions after Windows 95, and automatically detect multiple CPU PCs and install multiple clients accordingly.

The project will be hosted on SourceForge.net with CVS support.

Also note that you'll not be alone: I am going to learn NSIS scripting, there's someone else helping (not full time, though) and we already have an old installer for Folding@Home version 4 (so it's mostly code cleanup and bugfixing what needs doing).

Fixed another few problems!

Today I've fixed another few problems: I've enabled gzip support so the bandwidth usage of 100mb/day will decrease a bit (gzip compresses most pages 400%). Email will also be fixed in the coming days, so we can finally get a @spreadthefox.net emailaddress!

I also managed to get distributed authentication working, so now you can log in at any Drupal powered site using your-username@spreadthefox.net, like you can log in on this site with your-username@drupalpoweredsite.com, e.g. your login from spreadfirefox.com.

If you have any more ideas, or want to report a problem, please

We're going fine!

The Firefox Team has passed the 2 million points, and is still growing! As you can see on the eoc stats page, the daily production is also increasing - let's hope it will last forever!

The new domain seems to be all running fine. The URLs are semi-clean - there's /cs/ in there because /user (which is used by Drupal/CivicSpace) redirects to the ISP's configuration panel login... and they didn't want to remove it. I'll try to get a mailserver up too, so it'll be possible to get a nice spreadthefox.net emailaddress. Maybe I can offer them to e.g. the top folders - but I'll have to check that as I'm not sure if it's possible to create emailaddresses without having to add users to Linux itself.

DNS problems might occur

Some DNS problems might occur the next few days when we're getting the site use the spreadthefox.net/spreadthefox.ws domain.

When you have trouble visiting the site, you can use http://xrl.us/e9st temporarily.

The new site!

The new site has now gone live. There are still some small things to do though, such as getting the stats system integrated with Drupal and get the domain use DNS instead of having a redirect to the ugly URL.

This should all be done in the coming week, but until then, continue to spread the fox by folding!
