Dear lovely SFX folding community. I was there when we started, I promoted the hell out of this project in the old SFX, worked hard on the new SFX, and continue to work on protein engineering in my real life job.

However, time has come o hang the processor in the willows. Some laboratory computers are still running the application under my name, however I will not actively see to it that it stays that way. F@H on my computer stopped yesterday.

Come on!

Website upgrade

The website has been upgraded to Drupal 5.1! We were running a two year old version of CivicSpace which caused some issues (anonymous visiting was broken, comment spam could not be solved, and more). The new installation doesn't have all fancy features of the old one, but if you miss something please let me know through the contact form.

We hate spam!

Recently this site got all spammed.. While we aren't very active, the site shouldn't be degraded into a collection of NSFW-links. That's why I've blocked all new registrations. If you still want an account, send me a message at mark@this domain.
Update: with the upgrade, registrations are back online and anonymous access works again.

I am number 5. Wow, when I started folding (and I was one of the early ones) I was always hovering around number 20.

I know I added 1-2 computers since then, but still, back then I was never number 5. It is good to see in the list of active users that I am number 8 in there, and sometimes fall back to number 15 ;o)

Come'on dudes and dudettes: catch up with me I dare you ;o)

Now up to number 4... Chekat here I come.

Of course it would be better if we were getting of position 85 and climbed to top 50, but hey, who knows...

Dear all,

We are doing fine, but not as good as it ever was. We have some dedicated folders here and it is great to see them sticking around so long!

Also I see some new people now and then. Great! Welcome.

Firefox adaptation is growing and also the amount of extensions. However we do not see a same increase in people who would like to help research and fight cancer and other diseases.

One way to promote the folding@home program would be have an extension on Firefox which just give you the stats of our team (Firefox), and some other interesting features (such as RSS to this website...). It also should install F@H in you computer(Oh and of course out team Firefox will be set as default team, to promote Firefox. People should be able to change this setting however).

Just wanted to confirm that this was still an active team. I just joined and was wondering if there are any other spots in the Mozillazine forums to check us out, or any specific places to keep my eyes out for.

I see here they won't allow us to Merge teams but if I can help recruit anyone, let me know the best ways you have found to do it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, have I seen a folding at home Avatar in the forums over a t mozillazine? I'll look around again.
Just wantesd to let you know I set up 2 systems this AM. 1 is only running 98 with 128 RAM but what the heck. Anything is better then nothing, right?

And why I do not understand. I am folding as much as before (should be average of 450 -500 WU/day) and I even added an extra computer (5 computers constantly running now). So why am I (and others slowing!!) slowing down
