Hello there y'all
My first blog post to SFX to mark my reaching 60K points. I've been folding here for some time, and seem to have "caught the F@H bug" - drat :-)
I say that because Lanza, who has tracked me up the chart doggedly for many months now, seems to have found another CPU, or a faster one, and I am feeling that I need to do likewise to keep up. I thought this was about using spare cycles, not buying new ones :) Oh well, it's a good cause!
If Lanza is reading this I would be interested to find out about you. I'm a software engineer living in Cambridge, and have 3 more-or-less fulltime folding machines: an Athlon 3100+ that's also my fileserver (0.5TB), a P4 3GHz that's my desktop workstation, and an old P4 1.8GHz laptop that's not always folding. I used to have a PIII 866MHz on permanent folding duty, but it seems to have given up the ghost now.
I'm hoping to get my hands on a new Athlon 64 Dual Core - probably the 4400+ - sometime soon, but I'm waiting a bit till availability and price improve. It will probably replace the Intel box as my workstation, as the fileserver is quite loud enough without adding more heat inside, and my work includes manipulating large (120MB) images in Photoshop, so more grunt is always appreciated!

Great to see you on the site!
You are ginding a few places before me, and I will not catch up ;o) I have been hoovering around place 20 - 23 since I started folding (somewhere last year). I only have 3 machines running (2 here at work and one at home), so I cannot do much more. I can see though when people are hard at work on the lab, my WU drop after that ;o)
Money to upgrade my computer neh, I can eat though, and we have a house... Just a poor (old) PhD student far North (get the violins).
Hope Lanza lurks around here sometimes, would be cool to get some life into this nobel effort (helping fight disease and spread firefox at the same time).
Greetzzzzz....
Up North
(btw SFX = spreadfirefox.com, I gues this is SFXF@H....)
