Spread the Fox by Folding with Flare!

Folders: reactivate

Yeah yeah I am sorry I crossposted from the forum, but I needed to say this twice...:

We should still be active here and update our blogs, ideas about folding etc...

We are loosing people, and then helping to find diseases & promoting Firefox will be not done. ( http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=138693&start=900): a_rabbit hops away :o(

HopeSeekr of xMule has posted a few blogs here, but an active forum is fun (see MozillaZine again) but hello praseodymium are you ok, should we call the police, a search party. What is up, are you still at SFX, should we do a roll call again.

In the new structure of SFX we need project leaders, who take charge. Should this be transfered to BOING project.

FEEDBACK please! This has to be more than just a portal to our stats...

Up North (just on place 19, but doing the folding for a long time)...

btw I emailed praseodymium this same post...

new folders

I have gotten a computer whiz friend to download the software, and his name should be something like suhag_patel. He converted from the google aggregate team, so it started him on the very large 7500-frame unit instead of the normal 400 frames, but I expect him to upload sometime next week.

The important thing is that he is going to try and convince all his friends to join our team. 10 or 12 more dedicated P4's should boost our 24 hour average by 2,000 points or more.

Also, my new computer is a dual-processor pc, and it won't recognize the console client that I tried to install so it would recognize both chips. That means I am only using half my power. Does anyone have an idea on how I can fix this? I'd appreciate the help!

Install them as a service

Go here http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=231247&page=1

Then just download and change the team name in the config file. (Along with their listed instructions, of course)

Dual Opteron 244 (1.8GHz) -24/7
Sempron 2500+ (1.75GHz) -24/7
Pentium III 850MHz -rarely

Multiple CPUs

You need to run multiple instances of Folding@Home. If you use Linux this is really easy, in Windows you need to start Folding@Home twice (most people use the console client + the GUI one) and then set either of the two to run on the other processor. Notice that you need to do this every time you reboot your computer (and the processes restart). It might be possible to get some nice script for it, though.

10 P4s Quantified

10 P4s will increase it by 1000. This is from personal experience.

Status of Various People

Um...

I used to post here all the time because *EVERY* fucking time I'd make a single non-xMule post (even in a blog section) on xMule.ws some damn troll (and usually four or five using 2 nicks each :) would flame the hell out of it, and after years of this it got very tiring.

Mark (praseodym [his new nick]) hooked me up w/ my own blog, also using drupal, and — as you can see! — I have significantly modified two themes, both utilizing cutting-edge CSS such as transparency and what-not.

Mark has been extremely busy. He had finals two weeks ago and another batch this week, apparently. If you want to chat with him, myself, and a few other high-quality hackers, go to #xmule on the EFnet IRC Net, as he is there most of the time, and I am there all the time.

HopeSeekr of xMule

true.

Yes, I indeed have exams this coming week. The last ones were more like two months ago though, the finals that were recently were finals for end-year students.

You can reach me as praseodymium on freenode and mozilla irc, and as praseodym on EFnet. I'm not there 24h but still most of the time. And of course you can leave a comment here or send me an email at praseodym at gmail.

thanks guys

Seems like we are still alive and kicking, I just reactivated the 2 comp on the lcab, because they seems to have problems keeping some programs running in the background.

I wish I had computer skills but he just doing some research...

never give up!!!

It ain't over...we can still do something. I am starting college, and I plan on making plenty of friends that I'm sure will love the idea of folding for Firefox. I guess if you really look at the grand scheme of things, it doesn't matter who you fold for. But, for the moment, I'd like to help enhance the team I'm on. I have tried over and over again to find the oft-mentioned Mozillazine blogs, but the links never worked. Today I finally got to them and I have decided I'm happy where I'm at. Thanx to everyone that has continued to help us. Let's keep folding!!
