The Firefox Folding@Home Team blogs http://www.spreadthefox.net/cs/blog en Thanks for all the fish (proteins)! http://www.spreadthefox.net/cs/node/367
Dear lovely SFX folding community. I was there when we started, I promoted the hell out of this project in the old SFX, worked hard on the new SFX, and continue to work on protein engineering in my real life job.

However, time has come o hang the processor in the willows. Some laboratory computers are still running the application under my name, however I will not actively see to it that it stays that way. F@H on my computer stopped yesterday.

http://www.spreadthefox.net/cs/node/367#comments Fri, 17 Oct 2008 11:29:32 +0100 up north 367 at http://www.spreadthefox.net/cs W00t http://www.spreadthefox.net/cs/node/320
I am number 5. Wow, when I started folding (and I was one of the early ones) I was always hovering around number 20.

I know I added 1-2 computers since then, but still, back then I was never number 5. It is good to see in the list of active users that I am number 8 in there, and sometimes fall back to number 15 ;o)

Come'on dudes and dudettes: catch up with me I dare you ;o)

Now up to number 4... Chekat here I come.

Of course it would be better if we were getting of position 85 and climbed to top 50, but hey, who knows...

Marco
http://www.spreadthefox.net/cs/node/320#comments Tue, 30 Jan 2007 13:09:34 +0000 up north 320 at http://www.spreadthefox.net/cs Ooops... gotta watch those logs. IE 7 issue. http://www.spreadthefox.net/cs/node/232
I recently installed IE7 beta3 to give it a whirl, what I didn't realize is that this affected my folding. I was cleaning up my computer today and decided to check my folding log, and noticed that it hadn't been able to submit work reults for a while.

http://www.spreadthefox.net/cs/node/232#comments Tue, 08 Aug 2006 05:06:34 +0100 deus_vult 232 at http://www.spreadthefox.net/cs Closed one computer... http://www.spreadthefox.net/cs/node/210
Well it has been folding since I added the nice little red logo in my system tray. I was also one of the first to enter this team. Now that it slowly is getting warmer (outside and thus in my computer) I am pulling the F@H out of my home computer.

I am slowly trickling into the top 10 of our team so I will give that one its needed rest. The other 4 computers will continue as good as they can, but since they are located at work, other people than me may switch them off or be very active on them. Eitherway ~300 points a day in stead of ~500 a day is fine. I am over 133 000 points soon.

Please others catch up, crank up your machine(s). And to all those who see their folding records in black (at eoc stats) remember: that you guys do over 60% of all work!

http://www.spreadthefox.net/cs/node/210#comments Wed, 19 Apr 2006 10:14:48 +0100 up north 210 at http://www.spreadthefox.net/cs MozillaZine Folding@Home Team Completes 10 Million Points http://www.spreadthefox.net/cs/node/208
MozillaZine Folding@Home Team Completes 10 Million Points - [mozillaZine]
We only have 7.7 million points... and the number of users keeps decreasing. Since we don't have cron on the server, I made a script that looped with a sleep and executed the tasks regularly. Problem: this script got killed regularly, which resulted in no cron for weeks (until I remembered to restart the script, that is). I've now put crontask on another dedicated server with real cron, so it should always run now, which'll mean notifications are in time again.

PS.: Yes, I'm still active :). And I can give anyone admin rights if he or she wants (just so you can promote posts to the frontpage, etc.).

http://www.spreadthefox.net/cs/node/207#comments Thu, 16 Mar 2006 20:54:44 +0000 praseodymium 207 at http://www.spreadthefox.net/cs WHOEEHEOE http://www.spreadthefox.net/cs/node/195
I did it! When I started folding for this team over 1 year ago 'outz' was one of those folder that was out ocontrol and folding awya. I had only 2 computers folding then and it felt like I could never have that many point as he did.

Now 1 year later, he has stopped folding for our team (at least under that username?) and I overtook him. I can only say: things change...

Lets see if i can overtake a_rabbit some day, he was an active folder and even considered to fold for mozillazine a bit, but went back to his old team.

How long have you been in this team, yet another poll ;o)

http://www.spreadthefox.net/cs/node/192#comments Tue, 17 Jan 2006 08:53:59 +0000 up north 192 at http://www.spreadthefox.net/cs Hello everyone! http://www.spreadthefox.net/cs/node/191
This is my first day in the Firefox Folding Team. And I find it really exciting to be a part of this team. I only got one computer running so far (Athlon 64 3000+), but I think it could generate at least 200p / 24h. Its not much, but its allways something.

But one thing I don't like so much is the activity here. I think we chould get some regular visitors, to make this community active. And if we have an active community, we'll get more visitors, and so on.
http://www.spreadthefox.net/cs/node/191#comments Wed, 11 Jan 2006 19:34:06 +0000 kalle437 191 at http://www.spreadthefox.net/cs Yea! Another Computer. http://www.spreadthefox.net/cs/node/183
Well I finally got a 2nd computer folding. I recently had to do some work on my mom's computer, during which I made IE less accessible and added FF and F@H amongst many other tasks. So, despite our tend line (at eoc) going down I'm trying to help. Wish I had more I could do.
http://www.spreadthefox.net/cs/node/183#comments Thu, 08 Dec 2005 20:47:18 +0000 deus_vult 183 at http://www.spreadthefox.net/cs
